While millions across the nation went about their days as usual, a huge number of Texans weren’t so lucky back in the middle of June. Tropical storm “Bill” laid a smack down on areas such as Central Texas, causing flash flooding in various areas. Cities like Austin experienced more than seven inches worth of rain in a span of two hours, and further flooding even reduced freeways to a single lane.
Incidents of severe flooding, whether due to rain or other causes, are hardly unknown in other urban areas such as Metro Atlanta. Back in May, heavy rains coincided with a water main break that created flash floods and led to road closures.
